AFNorth FBLA Shines at Leadership Conference

AFNorth International School made a strong showing at this year’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Student Leadership Conference, bringing home placements in 67 objective tests and events.
Sixteen students from AFNorth participated in the annual conference, which gathers students from across Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools to compete in business-related challenges. The event took place in Hübingen, Germany.
AFNorth’s FBLA chapter, which was revived three years ago after a long hiatus, has grown rapidly from 11 to 30 members. It is now the largest club at the school and includes both DoDEA and international section students. Club members actively participate in fundraisers that benefit the school community and take part in the conference as a culminating activity.
"I'm very proud of all of our AFNorth FBLA Chapter members," said Dr. Manny Duarte, the chapter advisor. "The dedication to our club is impressive. We've grown significantly over the past three years and achieved incredible results in the Student Leadership Conference competitive events. The events required applying various business analytical skills and presentations to scenarios established by FBLA."
According to FBLA.org, Future Business Leaders of America is the largest business career and technical student organization in the world. For AFNorth students, the experience not only showcased their skills, but also reinforced the value of co-curricular opportunities while attending school overseas.
Congratulations to all the AFNorth FBLA participants for their outstanding accomplishments.
